U.S. says agent fired after rocks thrown

SAN YSIDRO – The shooting of a Mexican man by a U.S. Border Patrol agent during a rock-throwing incident west of the San Ysidro border crossing drew a rebuke yesterday from the Mexican Consulate in San Diego and a demand that U.S. authorities conduct a “thorough investigation.â€

Hey, Messico:

Throwing objects at agents is a common practice, said Supervisory Border Patrol Agent Daryl Reed. Smugglers often throw rocks and concrete as a diversion.

So far this year, there have been 330 assaults on agents, compared with 254 reported incidents in 2007, Reed said.

Any kind of attack on USBP agents is rejected by the AMERICAN people, violators should be shot on sight!

Uh, let's apply some rocket science in addressing the ways this situation could have been averted:

1. Don't scale the fence (or coalesce next to it) and/or
2. Don't throw rocks at BP agents on the other side.

If you do DO both the above, rest assured, you are taking a chance in provoking a reaction - and that reaction may not be entirely predictable or desirable.

In short: Duh!

What are the odds ...

Seems another illegal alien criminal who ATTACKED a border patrol agent got shot in the a$$ as well. I think the BP agents need to start aiming up a little higher, about 2-3 feet higher.

That would send a message eh?

And why is Mexico so against our BP firing at Mexico when the Mexicans were throwing stuff towards the US?

So these folks throwing rocks and concrete to aid three or four Mexicans trying to climb over the fence. Doesn't Mexico have some laws about aiding and abetting or being an accessory to a crime (illegals trying to enter the US) being committed?

Because mexico is a country with a third world mentality, with strong tendencies towards ethno-centrism. This condition interferes with their ability to give rational and or logical thought to anything involving their people or country...
