Mexico Dominant Immigrant Force in Los Angeles

MEXICO A DOMINANT IMMIGRANT FORCE IN LA

    Published: Nov. 3, 2008 at 11:28 AM

LOS ANGELES, Nov. 3 (UPI) -- Immigrants from Central and South America countries who have moved to Los Angeles say the Mexican culture is a dominant force in the U.S. city.

Juan Carlos Rivera of El Salvador says he is one of countless immigrants living in the California city that are forced to adapt to the Mexican culture in order to obtain work and build a life, the Los Angeles Times said Monday.

Rivera said he obtained a dishwashing job in Los Angeles by pretending to be Mexican, since the immigration ruse allowed him to fit in better in the city.

Mexicans make up Los Angeles' largest Latino group.

Salvadoran immigrant Jorge Mendoza said population discrepancy is apparent in nearly every aspect of a foreigner's life in Los Angeles.

"It's always Mexico, Mexico, Mexico," the 42-year-old immigrant told the Times. "I turn on the radio and all I hear is Mexican music. If I want to watch a soccer game, I have to watch a Mexican team play."

Evidently we are not the only ones sick to death of the "The Mexican Invasion": join the club, Juan Carlos!

There is a Mexican American comedian who talks about how growing up in Los Angeles when Latinos were a minority he, his family and friends were frequently told by paranoid Anglos "this is America speak English". As he grew up LatInos became a larger per centage of the population and eventually the majority. The per centage of Asians is also increasing and he finds himself surrounded from time to time by Asians and he responds by saying "this is Los Angeles SPEAK SPANISH".
I support enforcement and see its lack as bad for the 3rd World as well. Remittances are now mostly spent on consumption not production assets. Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)

So I suppose the non-Mexicans will be granted standing to sue for discrimination?

As a non-Mexican, American of HIspanic heritage...this is not new to the millions of Americans (naturalized or native-born) that can trace their heritage to Latin American countries other than Mexico ........the problem is that pro-Mexican groups like La RAZA, LULAC and most of the open borders advocacy crowd...really were doing the bidding for the Mexican government which wanted to keep and send the millions of undereducated, impoverished masses of rural Mexicans in and to the U.S. .......they used the term "Hispanic" as a code for Mexican....but most of us can see through that.

In a lot of circles amongst Central and South Americans including those that are U.S. citizens it is considered an insult to be called a Chicano, or Mexican. La RAZA very cleverly packaged their brand to extort millions of dollars from corporations and local governments in the name of "diversity"....as taxpayers we have to say NO MAS to the funding of subversive, ethno-centric groups of any kind.
