Mexico regrets US judge's immigration ruling

Mexico City (AFP) - The Mexican government on Tuesday lamented a US judge's decision to block an immigration order by President Barack Obama that would have protected millions of undocumented workers from deportation.

"These programs are a fair migration remedy for millions of families and could strengthen the contributions of Mexican migrants to the US economy and society," the foreign ministry said in a statement.

The ministry said its embassy and consular network in the United States would "keep watch on this process and the development of the next legal steps."

The Mexican government warned its nationals against possible "migration swindles and fraud" and urged them to stay informed through its consulates.

Obama's order was due to come into force on Wednesday, but a federal judge in Texas on Monday issued a temporary injunction that had been sought by 26 states, which claimed that the move was illegal.

The White House called the ruling wrong, saying the president had acted within his legal authority and vowed an appeal.

Central American governments disappointed by U.S. immigration delay

TEGUCIGALPA (Reuters) - Several Central American governments and Mexico said on Tuesday they were disappointed after a U.S. judge in Texas blocked President Barack Obama's steps to ease the threat of deportation for 4.7 million undocumented immigrants, many of them from the region.

Last year, tens of thousands of child migrants fled Honduras, Guatemala and El Salvador, which are among the poorest and most violent in the world, overwhelming the southern U.S. border and creating a political storm in Washington.

In November, Obama imposed the most sweeping immigration reform in a generation, bypassing the U.S. Congress by issuing executive orders that were to begin taking effect on Wednesday.

Late on Monday, however, the plan was stalled when U.S. District Judge Andrew Hanen in Brownsville, a city along the Texas border with Mexico, issued a temporary suspension, backing 26 states that argued Obama had overstepped his legal authority.

"Although we respect this decision as part of the United States' internal legislation, it's evidence of the fact that there are certain political sectors trying to torpedo a decision that would ... help to alleviate the social and economic pressures that buffet our countries," Honduran presidential advisor Marvin Ponce said.

Guatemala's foreign ministry said it was saddened by the judge's injunction and urged Guatemalans not to fall for cons perpetrated by those seeking to take advantage of the confusion surrounding U.S. immigration reform.

Some argue that last year's spike in child migrants was partly caused by Central American human traffickers taking advantage of misinformation surrounding immigration law.

"We recommend that the Guatemalan community keeps itself informed, prepared and doesn't allow itself to be surprised by unscrupulous people and organizations who might try to abuse of their good faith," the foreign ministry said in a statement.

El Salvador's foreign ministry urged the United States in a statement to find a quick way to stabilize immigration law for law abiding immigrants in the country.

A perfect example of why illegal aliens are not under the jurisdiction of the United States and aren't covered by the 14th Amendment.

The 14th Amendment has been misused by immigration advocates and the Courts to wrongly support handing out public benefits to people who aren't even supposed to be in the country. It was used by the US Supreme Court in the Plyler v Doe decision that requires school districts to provide free public education to illegal aliens, it was misused by the US Supreme Court in the Kim Von Ark decision that granted birthright citizenship to children of legal immigrants, and this decision was then misused by government officials to mis-apply it to children of illegal aliens. The 14th Amendment only applies to those under the jurisdiction of the United States, and foreign persons here in violation of US immigration law are not under our jurisdiction, because as you can see from the above statements of their leaders, they are under the jurisdiction and protection of their own country. While in the US, they are illegal aliens, it's why we deport illegal aliens back to their home country instead of say executing them or sending them to Alcatraz for life pounding rocks, it's why we have special immigration courts to handle their cases instead of say processing them like Americans through criminal courts. They are aliens, belonging to another country and thus are under their jurisdiction, not ours.

To confer any rights, immunities and privileges of US citizens to illegal aliens is beyond the pale of utter stupidity, because there is no natural, social, moral or legal requirement or obligation to do so, and by doing so our government is infringing upon our own rights, privileges and immunities, actions which have clearly resulted in the weakening and dilution of our own civil rights to live in peace, to work at sustainable wages, to enjoy domestic tranquility, and survive free of the burden of supporting and sustaining people who simply do not belong here because they belong somewhere else.

Our country has been Mexico's escape value for too long. Time to take care of their own better and quit depending upon their people here sending them money. What would happen if Americans hired human smugglers to take Americans into their country? Wouldn't be pretty, I hear they actually enforce their immigration laws.
