Mexico: Uniformed men in U.S. border incident were drug traffickers
MEXICO CITY Mexico says drug traffickers -- not it own soldiers -- were the uniform-clad men with a Humvee who reportedly protected a marijuana-smuggling foray into U-S territory.
That's the word today from Ruben Aguilar. He's the top spokesman for Mexican president Vicente Fox.
Law enforcement officials in Texas confronted armed traffickers near the Rio Grande on Monday near Fort Hancock, about 50 miles southeast of El Paso. They say what looked like a Mexican military patrol assisted the marijuana smugglers as they escaped back into Mexico.
Aguilar says -- quote -- "These were not Mexican soldiers." He adds -- quote -- "It is known that these are drug traffickers using military uniforms and they were not even regulation military uniforms."
Aguilar says the F-B-I in the United States supporting that view, but he gave no supporting evidence of the claim.Support our FIGHT AGAINST illegal immigration & Amnesty by joining our E-mail Alerts at http://eepurl.com/cktGTn
