Mexico voices concerns over immigrant bill
Mexico voices concerns over immigrant bill
Associated Press - April 16, 2010 12:14 PM ET
PHOENIX (AP) - Mexican Embassy officials are voicing concerns over what they call the potentially dire effects an immigration bill pending in the Arizona State Senate may have on the civil rights of Mexican nationals.
Embassy spokesman Ricardo Alday said initiatives that exclusively criminalize immigration create opportunities for an undue enforcement of the law through racial profiling.
The bill would require police to question people about their immigration status if there is reason to suspect they are illegal immigrants.
Other provisions target government agencies that hinder enforcement of immigration laws, people that hire illegal immigrants as day laborers and people that knowingly transport them.
The bill faces a final Senate vote, possibly next week. It could be signed by the governor after that.

Illegals don't have any civil rights in this country. They are foreighn criminals. Who cares what Mexico thinks anyway. I SAY RACIAL PROFILE. If you are legal, you have nothing to worry about and should be proud to show you are a citizen. If you are stopped and you can't speak English, chances are you are illegal. We have every right to see who is in our country.

Since when has "racial profiling" become a catchphrase to be used for political purposes?
Envision a Wall Street criminal; a crack dealer; a crooked insurance salesman; a cybercriminal. Profiling, by race, is a normal part of criminal investigation."Men of low degree are vanity, Men of high degree are a lie. " David

Mexico needs to mind their own damn business.
They are also hypocrites, when it comes to immigration policy.

I agree with Rush Limbaugh on this one. We need to adopt the mexican immigration law. There Illegals are hunted down jailed and deported. Regardless of your legal status you cannot protest against the government there either. The list goes on on what an immigrant can not do in mexico and be deported for doing anything. If we do then mexico would be screming mad.

Mexican nationals--
There is some concern on the part of the Mexican consulate that friendly Mexican cartel members who wish to traffic in drugs in the USA, may be subject to reduced sales and, even, arrest when they drive their bullet proof vehicles into Arizona.
There is also disappointment that all the money they spent on Phil Gordon and a few sheriffs was for naught.
They feel we are playing into the hands of people like Sheriff Joe Arpaio, a modern day folk hero. The folks of Arizona should erect a monument to that man.
Meantime, Mister Consular, why don't you go home to Mexico for a while, find those who finance the poor , illiterate workers to cross over into America and stop them???
And for a job that you say Americans will not do--how about putting together a litter cleanup crew and have them walk through the desert and foothills picking up the tons of trash your citizens have deposited on American soil????
