A rollover crash early Thursday morning netted the Jackson County Sheriff's Office its third illegal immigrant in five days.

Eduardo Bonilla rolled his vehicle just before 3 a.m. on Buckman Road near Reynolds Road, according to a news release from Sheriff Steven Rand. Deputy Chris Garrett arrested Bonilla, a Mexican citizen, for drunken driving.

Bonilla, 25, veered off Buckman Road and went into a field, Undersheriff Tom Finco said. He rolled when he tried to get back onto the road. Bonilla was not injured and taken to the Jackson County Jail.

He is the third illegal immigrant arrested in the county in the last five days. Lt. Chris Kuhl said the arrests came through standard patrol and police work and are not part of a special operation or crackdown on illegal immigrants.

On Wednesday night, Deputy Amy Bretes arrested a 23-year-old Mexican man in the county illegally after making a traffic stop. Pedro De Jesus told Bretes he had been smuggled into the county three years ago for $3,000, according to an earlier news release from Rand. While booking De Jesus at the jail, deputies found tattoos indicating his involvement in Mexican drug cartels.

Deputies found no drugs on De Jesus or in the 2012 Volkswagen has was driving. De Jesus told deputies he works on a farm in Lenawee County. The sheriff's office shared that information with the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Kuhl said.

On Saturday, deputies arrested Amadou Moustapha Diouf, a 31-year-old citizen of the West African Republic of Senegal. Diouf had an expired passport and had been denied an extension of an expired visa, according to an earlier release from Rand.

Diouf had come into the sheriff's office for a background check required to stay at the Jackson Interfaith Shelter, the homeless shelter at 214 S. Blackstone St.
