"We're seeing young children who are trying to cross the border just to reconnect with their parents, and their lives are in danger," Mrs. Obama said. "They're put in precarious situations. And a strong immigration reform policy would help alleviate some of those challenges."

These children can unite with their families in their own home countries.

Notice how her statements assume the position that it's the fault of the United States that 20 million illegal invaders have violated our immigration laws. Because of that, Michele Obama believes their must be a need for immigration reform.

Here she was in mexico and did not even once even suggest that mexico might want to think about developing their country so as to create opportunities for their people. Not once! Over and again, it’s our fault that 20 million illegals have invaded this country in violation of our laws!

It almost sounds as if Michele Obama is apologizing for not being able to give amnesty to millions of mexico’s invaders!

Oh, I see, since she's first lady, that automatically makes her an authority on the subject, right? BS, Michelle, you're better off in the kitchen cooking Kenyian food

Michelle Obama: 'Immigration reform is necessary'

    By OMAR TORRES

Wrapping up her first solo foreign trip, first lady Michelle Obama said in Mexico that changes to the immigration system are necessary, but will be politically difficult.

"It's not enough that the president wants it," Mrs. Obama told CNN in an interview. "We need Republicans and Democrats to support it, as well."

President Obama will continue pushing for major changes to the immigration system because the current one is creating problems on both sides of the border.

"We're seeing young children who are trying to cross the border just to reconnect with their parents, and their lives are in danger," Mrs. Obama said. "They're put in precarious situations. And a strong immigration reform policy would help alleviate some of those challenges."

The first lady also said the U.S. should work to reduce its demands for illegal narcotics because it would help Mexico with its drug wars.

Mrs. Obama also spoke with ABC News during her trip.

Mrs. Obama returns to the U.S. today -- to San Diego, for a child obesity event -- completing a foreign trip that began Tuesday with a surprise stop in Haiti to tour earthquake damage.

In Mexico, she visited (and danced) with elementary school children, and gave a speech to college students. She also met with Mexican counterpart Margarita Zavala, as well as President Felipe Calderon.

In her college speech, Mrs. Obama said she would focus her foreign agenda on young people. "All you have to do is believe in yourself," she said.

I'm sure it is to her. That way her husband and his family can remain in America.

Seems that some of the comments on the source article indicate they are proud of being ILLEGALS!

From the comment section of the source article - oigm said "Please don't think I am undocumented by choice. My family filed with immigration the same year we arrived. The entire process is extremely bureaucratic."

You and your family are ILLEGALS by choice because you considered United States Laws as an inconvenience so you decided to ignore them, I guess you feel that you are better then the normal United States Citizens and you can not be bothered with obeying the Laws of our nation.

What she and her husband are trying to get Americans to understand is that the problems of overpopulation and destruction of family farms in Mexico are really our problems, not problems for the government of Mexico.

The husband is also an opportunistic academic and an elitist. For 'Bama, concerns about illegal immigration are mere nativism - which he did say during one of his town hall meetings. The guidelines which he gave to the two Senators who put together the current plan for immigration reform included guaranteeing a supply of unskilled labor. During one of his town hall meetings, 'Bama could barely bring himself to say "flipping burgers." A lot of us probably did that and other, related, jobs when we were growing up. Gave us experience and work discipline. But those jobs are not good enough for our elitist president.

By closing the door to opportunities for gaining work experience, he'll prevent many Americans from acquiring the life experiences which would help them to become responsible husbands and fathers. And he'll guarantee that far too many of them will end up being incarcerated for minor drug offenses, which will make it extremely difficult for them to ever successfully compete in the workplace.

This guy is a godsend for those who employ illegals, but he's a disaster for ordinary Americans.

The goal is to greatly diminish the American middle class and pass immigration reform to legalize massive numbers of un-educated/under-educated, unskilled, low-wage earning illegal immigrants so the NAU can compete with the cheap, slave labor in other countries. That has been the plan all along.

No mention of all the drug runners crossing the border, or of respected Arizona Rancher Rob Krentz, who was gunned down two weeks before Easter on his own land by a suspected illegal alien who is believed to have fled back into Mexico! It is infuriating that United States citizens who are "put in precarious situations" by throngs of illegal aliens marching steadily across our border with Mexico, and whose "lives are in danger" as a result of this simply do not seem to matter to people in Washington.
