If Sen. Barack Obama wins the presidential race and Arizona Gov. Janet Napolitano takes a job in his administration, Secretary of State Jan Brewer would become governor.

What would she do?

Brewer said the scenario is all speculation at this point, but one of her priorities would be illegal immigration.

``We need to secure the borders, we have got to secure the borders," Brewer told News/Talk 92-3 KTAR's Jay Lawrence. She added that some type of legal program is needed to get workers needed into the United States.

Brewer, a Republican, said she and the Legislature could get a lot done.

``Together, between the Legislature and me, given the circumstances, we should be able to go in there and do what we need to do here in Arizona," she said.

Brewer said she would cut state spending and make the state live within its means.

Republicans have the majority in the state Senate and House at present; however, that could change in the November election. Napolitano is a Democrat.
