Minutemen Lead "Boycott Mexico" Campaignâ€
http://www.fox6.com/news/local/story.as ... c&rss=tick
It started as a safety warning to college students headed south for spring break. Now anti-illegal immigration activists are telling all San Diegans to stay away from Mexico.
"Boycott Mexico" is the name of a new nationwide campaign launched by a coalition of groups fighting illegal immigration.
They're urging all Americans to spend their tourist dollars in the US, as long as the Mexican government continues to interfere with the enforcement of US immigration law.
They're also calling on Mexico to reimburse the US for half the costs of incarcerating illegal immigrants in US jails and prisons, and they want the consulate to stop issuing "matriculas" - or I.D. cards.
Stuart Hurlbert, with Californians for Population Stabilization explains: "The idea is to pose an economic threat to Mexico. So if the government of Mexico does not behave in a more reasonable and civilized manner, then Americans will stop going to Mexico as tourists."
Critics say the message is counter-productive, and the group should be urging the US government to issue more work visas.
Some passers-by didn't like the protestors' tactics.
"It's been known this group is racist and hateful and takes the humanity of everybody that's here in the United States," says Francisco Aldana, an attorney.
The group was lead by the San Diego Minutemen and they protested in front of the Mexican Consulate General in Little Italy.
Letter sent to the Consul General in San Diego:
Consul General, Remedios GĂłmez Arnau,
Mexican Consulate of San Diego
1549 India St
San Diego, CA 92101
On behalf of the Citizens and the legal immigrants of the State of California, the San Diego Minutemen demand that the Mexican Government to pay for the costs acquired for subsidizing illegal alien Mexicans for their health care, their education, prosecution, incarceration, and the value of the human lives that illegal alien criminals have killed through drunk driving and murder.
At a time where our state is suffering from a $16 Billion plus deficit, the San Diego Minutemen believe that it is unfair that many State workers, such as teachers, will be laid off, while the Mexican Government continues to benefit from Billions of dollars in remittances.
Some of the costs are:
• The state's already struggling K-12 education system spends approximately $7.7 billion a year to school the children of illegal aliens who now constitute 15 percent of the student body.
• $1.4 billion of the taxpayers' money goes toward providing health care to illegal aliens and their families, the same amount that is spent incarcerating illegal aliens criminals.
• The costs to the four border counties in Arizona have increased by 39 percent from $19.2 million in 1999 to $26.6 million in fiscal 2006, researchers at the University of Arizona and San Diego State University found.
• Costs totaled $192 million for the nation's 24 border counties in Arizona, California, New Mexico and Texas - more than double the costs in 1999.
The study was commissioned by the U.S./Mexico Border Counties Coalition, a nonprofit group of border county officials who want the federal government to reimburse their county jails and prosecutors' offices for those costs.
The objective of the San Diego Minutemen is to look after the U.S. taxpayer and the betterment of our community. Be it with the cleaning of our state highways, or demanding that our government enforces the rule of law, our goal is to better the quality of life in the United States of America.
Always vigilant,
XXXXXXXX

Visitors to this website - Mexico is NOT an ally of the US. Illegals have murdered more Americans than the number KIA in Iraq. The 20,000 man. heavily armed, MS-13 street gang has declared war on US citizens.
What part of "We don't owe our jobs to India" are you unable to understand, Senator?

Our family members have already boycotted Mexico. It is not a safe place to be either. Not only should we now support them in any way, but it is just not safe.

From what I hear there won't be many students going down there this year. You'd have to live in a closet not to hear of the violence in TJ nowadays.

We should also boycott Mexican products! Boycotting all Mexican products as well as having our tourists stay home might get the message across that we are not going to be a silent majority any more. I personally threw away a $3.98 container of tomatoes when I read on the label that it was a "product of Mexico."
