SAN ANTONIO - Catholic Charities estimates 5000 migrants have crossed the Texas/Mexico border this past week, now they are in their care.

Catholic Charities said more than a thousand migrants have been dropped off to the San Antonio Greyhound bus station.
This comes after overcrowded detention centers started releasing migrants.

"This past week has been very long for us, a lot of people crossing the border, a lot of people coming to San Antonio," Catholic Charities CEO Antonio Fernandez said.

The influx of immigrants is leaving non-profits like Catholic Charities to pick up the pieces in several cities.
"Many people's dignity has been shattered," Archbishop Gustavo Garcia-Siller said.

Some migrants are staying in bus stations through the night until they get a ticket to another part of the county.
Our news crew saw a family who were giving food and water to the migrants inside the bus station.
Catholic Charities hope the giving continues.

So migrants can complete their journey in America.
