    More undocumented workers found

    More undocumented workers found

    By Chris Mazzolini

An additional 18 undocumented workers were apprehended and later released Tuesday during gate searches at Camp Lejeune, a base spokesman said, bringing the total since last week to 57.

The workers Tuesday were photographed, fingerprinted, checked by military police for outstanding warrants and then released off base property, said Maj. Cliff Gilmore, a spokesman for II Marine Expeditionary Force. None of the workers had criminal records, he said.

"We had no security-threat reason to hold them,"Gilmore said.

(Hell yes you DO have a reason to hold them! They are ILLEGAL!!!!!
It's the same process the base undertook last week when two groups of undocumented workers were discovered, Gilmore said. Twelve were found at various base construction sites on Aug. 15. Another 27 were found during gate searches two days later. They worked for civilian contractors.

Gilmore said base officials informed U.S. Immigrations and Customs Enforcement (ICE) following each instance. It told base officials to escort the workers to the gate and release them because no one was going to pick them up, Gilmore said.

Sue Brown, a spokeswoman for the ICE office in Atlanta, declined to explain why the workers were released.

"We have an ongoing investigation," Brown said. "There's no comment on that at this time until the investigation has been completed."

    [Oh really! I doubt that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The base is also investigating the matter, Gilmore said. However, to ensure that only the most accurate information is released to the public, Lejeune officials will not provide a "blow-by-blow" account just yet, Gilmore said.

"We're looking into it," he said. "We'll complete the investigation and then be willing to give an account of what happened, and what we'll do about it."

    Blah, Blah, Blah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Camp Lejeune's goal right now, Gilmore said, is twofold: ensuring that its boundaries are secure, and "reviewing all processes, procedures and policies regarding contracting and hiring."

"At this point we haven't made any changes," he said. "We're looking to nail down how (the Marine Corps is) involved in screening employees. We may implement different measures on how the Marine Corps is involved in that process, if we do need to be. We are going to review all of our procedures and see where and how we should be involved."

No penalties have been imposed on any contractors at this time, Gilmore said.

    Well what else is new!
"At this point, we hold strongly to the fact that contracted employees are responsible for upholding the laws, federal, state and local," he said.

Gilmore emphasized that these workers were found during documentation searches for all workers and no specific groups are being singled out.

"We're being very consistent in our procedure,"he said.

    OH PLEASSSSSSSSSSSSE!

what part of "ILLEGAL" do they not understand???

Congress has the power to "define and punish" violations of the law of nations -- I think it's time that "ILLEGAL INVASION" is made a felony subject to imprisonment . . .

p.s. ALIENS are not entitled to the 'Bill of Rights'

I must have been slow. I didn't even notice this one until a little while ago. I simply can't believe this. Oh again, I was on the phone with my congressman and Senators. I don't know if anyone has tried e-mailing the Defense Department. But I know I am on My way to a nice letter to them.

I still can't believe this. Someone wake me up from this terrible dream.

this is the same "nonDefense Department" that "would shut or trim 837 bases and save $49 billion over 20 years" --- base closings during a time of war!

Yeah Save 49 billion. I don't know about any of you out there, but i have been involved in shutting bases down in the past. Save 49 billion after spending 490 billion to shut them down. WOW what a savings. Plus Shutting Walter Reed Down. SO that the Veterans and wounded have fewer hospitals to go to.

Congress can't shut down the bases without the consent of the governors -- that's why 2 had backbone enough to file suit against them . . .

but the thing is, "Congress" is not doing it --- the "commission," "defense department" and the "Pentagon" are --- another "unconstitutional transfer of power"

this has nothing to do with "saving money" -- this has to do with the states becoming DEFENSELESS . . . because the federal government can only attack "defenseless" people, i.e., Confederate States were without an army, navy and had no warships ....

shutting down Walter Reed and providing healthcare for "illegals" is a slap in the face of every TRUE American
