GREAT FALLS, Mont. (AP) A Mexican restaurant involved in a federal investigation in Great Falls has been sold to a new owner.

The Melaque (muh-LAH'-kay) restaurant in Great Falls has been closed since late May, after it was raided by Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials.

Investigators alleged that there were three illegal immigrants working at the restaurant, and the business was being used in a drug smuggling operation.

The new restaurant will be called La Sierra.

The new owner says the entire restaurant is being cleaned out and redone. They expect to open the doors on July 10th.

I hope the authorities keep an eye on it. It could be that "new owner" is part of the drug smuggling operation too.

After I'd gotten rid of a coyote house on the property I manage, and the home was resold, I ended up with a continuation of the same operation after the "new owners" had bought the place.

The police told me it's a pretty common tactic.
