One of the largest drug busts in North Carolina history wasn’t because of a year long investigation, but because the suspect didn’t obey the Move Over Law.

Immigrations and Customs Enforcement officers were conducting an operation on the side of the road when investigators said the suspect did not move his van into another lane. When officers stopped the driver they noticed it had two different license plates. An ICE dog sniffed out $18 million of cocaine.
Investigators suspect the cocaine came from Atlanta and was heading north to either Pennsylvania or New York. Police arrested the driver.

Coming up tonight at 4:30 p.m., reporter Alex Reed will tell you what ICE investigators say is different about the drugs at the center of the investigation than in other drug investigations.
