    The Murder of Matthew Denice

Matthew Denice was killed by Nicholas Dutan Guaman, who struck and killed the 23-year-old while he was on his motorcycle. Guaman, an illegal immigrant from Ecuador, was under the influence of alcohol at the time of Denice's death. A Worcester Superior Court judge is currently evaluating his competency to stand trial.

Guaman was competent enough to run from police.

Crime statistics for illegal immigrants are hard to find (why?). But at least one report from the Daily Caller from August states:

"Illegal aliens who have been released from custody between 2008 and mid-2011 have been charged with 16,226 subsequent crimes, including 19 murders, 142 sex crimes and thousands of drunk-driving offenses, drug-crimes and felonies, according to a new report from the nonpartisan Congressional Research Service."

The Milford Daily News reports that Guaman has pleaded "not guilty" to a litany of the charges: "second-degree murder, manslaughter while driving, motor vehicle homicide (while under the influence of liquor), wanton or reckless behavior causing risk of serious bodily injury to a child, leaving the scene of a collision causing death, failing to stop for police and driving without a license."

Seems like a winner. No charges for being an illegal immigrant were brought forward, apparently.

It is bizarre that the issue of illegal immigration is so polarizing. Clearly, it is not in America's best interest to allow people into the country without any indication of who they are. America should welcome immigrants with open arms; however, the people who come from other countries should have a viable path to citizenship.

At the time of the killing, a passenger in Guaman's truck, Louis Acosta,

"fled to his native Ecuador in October after cutting off a global positioning monitoring device he had been ordered to wear by the federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency."

The Denise family supports laws that "crack down" on illegal immigrants. The federal government is sorely lacking in its Constitutional duty to protect America from illegal immigrants. The politically charged issue oftentimes does not take into account that illegal immigrants are not limited to those people who only want to make a better life for themselves.

A poignant statement from Matthew Denice's family can be found here and a Facebook page, "Justice for Matthew" can be found here.

The family describes Matthew as recently graduated from College and had just started a new job.

This young man wasn't the only one to lose his life because of a drunken illegal laien and he won't be the last until something is finally done. Take away the jobs and all the freebies and do away with anchor babies.
