Illegal Immigrant students protest at McCains office
In an escalation of protest tactics, five immigrants dressed in caps and gowns held a sit-in on Monday at the Tucson offices of Senator John McCain, calling on him to sponsor legislation to open a path to legal status for young illegal immigrants.
Four of the protesters, including three who are in the country illegally, were arrested Monday evening on misdemeanor trespassing charges. The three were expected to face deportation proceedings.
It was the first time students have directly risked deportation in an effort to prompt Congress to take up a bill that would benefit illegal immigrant youths.
Separately on Monday, a lawsuit was filed in federal court in Phoenix by a coalition of civil rights, labor and religious groups challenging the new Arizona law that allows the police to detain suspected illegal immigrants as unconstitutional, saying it would lead to racial profiling.
Though it was the fifth suit challenging the law, it was widely believed to have the best chance of being heard by the courts given the groups’ experience and the nature of the complaint.
Brooke Buchanan, a spokeswoman for Mr. McCain, said of the protesters, “The individuals have a right to peacefully protest in the senator’s office,â€

Tell them to take their free educations US taxpayers funded against their will and go home to their homeland of citizenship and make something of themselves doing something for someone else. These students are the most self-centered, self-oriented, whiny bunch of people that have ever occupied American Schools. Get them out, send them home, let them whine there, in their homelands, where they belong.

DEMAND,DEMAND,DEMAND. TAKE,TAKE,TAKE. NOW WHEN ARE THEY GOING TO GIVE BACK? NEVER THATS WHEN. WHAT IN THE HEY MAKE THEM THINK THEY ARE SO SPECIAL THEY DON'T DESERVE A FREE PASS TO CITIZENSHIP IN THIS COUNTRY. THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH OUR IMMIGRATION LAWS EXCEPT THEY ARE NOT BEING ENFORCED. THESE LAWS WERE PASSED DOWN FROM OUR FOUNDING FATHERS AND I THINK ITS WRONG FOR THIS GOVERNMENT TO GO CHANGING OUR LAWS AT THE DEMANDS OF CRIMINALS AND THEIR LOW LIFE PRESIDENT AND GOVERNMENT

I'm tired of these 'demands" from foreigners that do not belong here working, going to school, having babies etc on our dime! Self deport or be deported.

Illegal aliens must be deported
All illegal aliens must be deported. This November remove from office all the politicians who support amnesty for illegal aliens. In 2012 we have to elect a new president. This president is not doing a good job in terms of deporting illegal aliens and the economy. The economy sucks.

Margo Cowan, a lawyer representing the students, said that the Tucson police said they would advise federal immigration authorities of the arrests, and that she expected the students would be put in immigration detention.Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)
