Richardson vows to push for immigration overhaul

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) - New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson told members of a national Latino rights group that he will make a big push for immigration law changes during his final months in office.
Richardson said Friday at the national convention of the League of United Latin American Citizens in Albuquerque that he will support challenges to Arizona's new immigration law and push for Congress to overhaul the country's immigration policies.

Richardson says immigration reform should include more border security and a path to legal residency for the immigrants who are in the country illegally, provided they pass background checks and learn English.

He has about five months remaining in his second term as governor.

It is still incomplete if it does not a date that they leave.
I support enforcement and see its lack as bad for the 3rd World as well. Remittances are now mostly spent on consumption not production assets. Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)
