Why Nancy Pelosi is REALLY Pro Illegal Alien
She owns non-union vineyards in Napa that depend on cheap foreign labor.

Gilchrist was reacting to my report several weeks ago in FrontPage Magazine that Pelosi – who owns non-union vineyards in Napa Valley where grape-picking depends chiefly on the availability of cheap foreign labor – is doing everything she can to help open the floodgates to more illegal immigration. And she wants the American taxpayers to pay their way. As even more proof of this than I previously reported, Pelosi does not want employers like her to be required to pay the cost of illegal aliens’ hospital care. She voted against a bill that would make employers liable for the reimbursements if an undocumented employee seeks medical attention. And she voted in favor of rewarding illegal aliens from Mexico with Social Security benefits.

At the same time, Pelosi has led the Democratic opposition to any effective border controls or documentation requirements. She opposed the Secure Fence Act of 2006, signed into law by President Bush, and voted against final passage of a border security and enforcement bill in 2005 which required that all businesses must use an electronic system to check if all new hires have the legal right to work in this country. She voted against a bill to bar drivers’ licenses for illegal aliens in 2005. This year she opposed legislation requiring presentation of a legitimate government-issued photo ID to prove eligibility to vote, claiming that “there is little evidence anywhere in the country of a significant problem with non-citizen voters.” She is dead wrong. For example, an accused terrorist by the name of Nuradin Abdi was just recently reported to have illegally registered to vote at the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles. Nuradin Abdi was indicted earlier this year as part of a conspiracy to blow up the Columbus Mall.

Pelosi also believes in giving sanctuary to illegal aliens. She opposed legislation to deny federal homeland security funding to state and local governments who refuse to share information they learn about an individual’s immigration status with Federal immigration authorities. Pelosi’s hometown of San Francisco is one of the sanctuary cities she voted to protect for the benefit of illegal aliens. Pelosi even voted against strengthening our immigration law with regard to the deportability of alien terrorists.

Now for those of you who wanting to stay home on Election Day, don’t even think of it! We cannot have this botoxed, geriatric moobat as Speaker of the House!

Pelosi Voted Against Prohibiting Gifts From Lobbyists
Recently, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi has had a number of press conferences where she spoke of lobbying reform and address ethical issues, including banning House members from accepting gifts from lobbyists... Her rhetoric is laughable considering she voted against a ban on gifts lobbyists back in 1995!!!

In November of 1995, Rep. Pelosi voted against a provision "to prohibit registered lobbyists from giving gifts to members, officers, or employees of the House and Senate," and was joined by the number-two Democrat in the House, Steny Hoyer.

UPDATE: Today, Rep. John Boehner (R-OH) issued the following comments in response to recent statements from Pelosi and other Democrats on the need for passage of lobbying reform measures in the United States Congress:

"When I hear Democratic Party leaders throwing around terms like 'culture of corruption,' I have to think: 'You oughta know.'

"Yes, Republicans are outraged by the actions of Jack Abramoff. But we're outraged, in part, because our standards are higher than the standards that were held by the Democratic majority we replaced after 1994. We are repulsed at Abramoff and his crimes, in part, because they remind us of the corruption we uprooted and stamped out when we took the majority away from the Democrats a decade ago.

"Minority Leader Pelosi, who has served in Congress since 1987 and was part of the last Democratic majority, should recall that corruption well. It wasn't that long ago that gifts and personal loans from S&L interests to a Democratic committee chairman, made in hopes of winning favorable treatment from regulators, resulted in a half-trillion dollar scandal and a $125 billion tab for the American taxpayer. Nor was it that long ago that the Democratic chairman of the House Administration Committee stood idly by while drugs were being dealt from the House Post Office, hundreds of Members of Congress were bouncing checks and floating themselves zero-interest loans from the House Bank, and lobbyists were being given assigned parking spots on the Capitol grounds. Nor was it that long ago that the Democratic chairman of the Ways & Means Committee was trading taxpayer-purchased stamps for personal cash, leading to his conviction and jail time in 1993.

"An honorable majority responds to its stumbles with contrition, reform, and an effort to fix that which is broken. This is precisely the path Speaker Hastert and Chairman Dreier have charted for our majority in recent days. I applaud the Speaker for his leadership, and challenge Minority Leader Pelosi to join Republicans in our effort to change the way Congress works."

Pelosi, Democratic Leaders Hold Roundtable Discussion with CAIR
As Doug Ross, who kindly sent this to me, observes: "This ... is the same group of which Chuck Schumer (someone pinch me, I can't believe I'm agreeing with him) said, 'we know [CAIR] has ties to terrorism.' The same CAIR that was directing donations, ostensibly targeted for the NY/DC Emergency Relief Fund, to Hamas. The same CAIR that changed their solicitation efforts to the 'Global Relief Foundation', which the Treasury Department states, '...has provided assistance to Usama Bin Ladin, the al-Qaeda Network, and other known terrorist groups.'"

House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), Congressman John D. Dingell (D-MI), Congressman John Conyers (D-MI), Congressman Charles Rangel (D-NY), and other Congressional Democrats were joined yesterday by national leaders of the Muslim American community in a roundtable discussion on issues of mutual concern to Democrats and Muslim Americans.
The discussion centered on working together to defend civil rights and to restore civil liberties.

Congressional Democrats and Muslim Americans," Pelosi said. "We share a fundamental principle - the belief that diversity is the backbone of our communities. A controversial fundraising committee run by House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) was slapped with a $21,000 fine by the Federal Election Commission for enabling Pelosi to funnel more than $100,000 in illegal contributions to Democratic candidates in late 2002 as she was vying to become Democratic leader.
Despite the fine, Pelosi has not shuttered her second political action committee, new campaign finance reports show. Instead, she used the remaining $140,000 in the Team Majority PAC to subsidize other fundraising expenses, such as the $300,000 salary of her top fundraiser and the cost of renting an MCI Center luxury box for an event at a Simon & Garfunkel concert.

Meanwhile, the new reports show that at least two other Democratic candidates were penalized for accepting contributions from the Pelosi committee in the weeks before the 2002 elections.


Talk about sneaky...
Pelosi ran afoul of campaign finance regulations in late 2002 when she started a second leadership PAC in order to circumvent the $5,000 annual donation limits.
“The law is pretty simple: You can’t use a second PAC as a ploy to get around the contribution limits,” said Ken Boehm of the National Legal and Policy Center.

After the FEC began looking into the new account, Team Majority PAC asked the nearly three dozen Democrats who had received excessive contributions from the fund to return the money.

The PAC also gave more than $100,000 back to individual donors who had contributed to the committee.

FEC to Investigate Ms. PAC-Man

San Francisco Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi doled out wads of cash to her Democratic colleagues in the months leading up to the November 5 mid-term elections. She raised and distributed more money than any other member in the U.S. House of Representatives. In fact, her prolific fundraising may well have earned Pelosi the overwhelming support in her caucus to replace Dick Gephardt as House Minority Leader — despite being labeled “out-of-touch” with mainstream America by many in her own party.

Pelosi’s fundraising tactics have now made her the subject of a formal investigation by the Federal Election Commission (FEC).

On October 25, the National Legal and Policy Center (NLPC) filed a complaint with the FEC alleging that Pelosi’s twin leadership political action committees, PAC to the Future and Team Majority, were being intentionally used to circumvent long-established campaign fundraising and contribution limits. The FEC formally acknowledged this week that the matter was under review.

Pelosi’s circumvention scheme enabled her donors to “double-up” on their contributions, giving twice as much money than is permissible under federal law. According to Leo McCarthy, the treasurer of both PACs, “The main reason for the creation of the second PAC [Team Majority], frankly, was to give twice as many hard dollars” to candidates. But federal election law is strikingly clear with regard to this matter, as it requires multiple PACs under the control of the same person to be subject to contribution limits as if they were one.

Perhaps even more disturbing is that McCarthy, when initially questioned, claimed he had received approval from the FEC for the creation of the joint committees. That claim turned out to be untrue, as the FEC has no record of having given Pelosi or McCarthy an opinion.

Within 24 hours of NLPC filing its complaint Pelosi halted Team Majority’s activities, and some of the candidates who reaped the benefits of the PAC have returned their contributions.

According to NLPC Chairman Ken Boehm, “No member of Congress has ever set up a second leadership political action committee to evade contribution limits. Representative Pelosi has been a strident supporter of campaign finance reform, yet she’s been caught violating the clearest and most basic law of all, the limits on contributions.”

A decision by the FEC is not expected for several months. Yet it is unlikely Pelosi will get more than a slap on the wrist for her malfeasance. She will continue to gobble up the cash, even without her beloved twins. But all the money in the world will be of no help to House Democrats if their new Minority Leader, Ms. PAC-Man, undertakes her new leadership role with the same disregard for the law that she used to get there.

Democrat Nancy Pelosi is a U.S. Representative from California's 8th District. She has been the House Minority Leader since 2002. Pelosi graduated from Trinity College in Washington, D.C. in 1962, then married businessman Paul Pelosi and moved to his native San Francisco. She worked her way up through the state Democratic party before entering Congress after a special election in 1987. The 8th District, which includes much of San Francisco, is considered one of the more liberal districts in the United States, and thus Pelosi has often been accused of extreme liberalism by her political opponents. She was named Minority Leader in November of 2002, becoming the first woman to lead a political party in the history of the U.S. Congress. She became the presumptive Speaker of the House after Democrats won control of the House of Representatives in the national elections of November 2006.


Pelosi's father, Thomas D'Alesandro, Jr. was a congressman from Maryland (1939-47) and mayor of Baltimore (1947-59). Her brother, Thomas J.
