Coronavirus stimulus bill: Democrats and Republicans appear close to $2 trillion deal

House Democrats released their own 1,400-page stimulus package to address the coronavirus, and it includes $300 million for refugees.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi released the $2.5 trillion economic relief package Monday after a $2 trillion Senate version failed to advance.

The package calls “for an additional amount for ‘Migration and Refugee Assistance'" of $300 million to "remain available until expended, for necessary expenses to prevent, prepare for, and respond to coronavirus: Provided, That such amount is designated by the Congress as being for an emergency requirement pursuant to section 251(b)(2)(A)(i) of the Balanced Budget and Emergency Deficit Control Act of 1985.”

House Minority Whip Steve Scalise slammed the proposal, labeling it Pelosi’s “socialist wish list.”

“Speaker Pelosi unveiled legislation aimed at exploiting the COVID-19 public health crisis by attempting to force the inclusion of a socialist wish list of policies that have nothing to do with the public health and economic emergency,” Scalise, a Louisiana Republican, said.

Scalise characterized Republican objections to the proposal, including minimum wage increases, extensions of visas and work authorizations (including those under Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals and Temporary Protected Status), limiting Customs and Border Protection's capabilities, requiring the agency to “assure the timely adjudication of asylums applications," and allowing "certain funding to go to sanctuary cities.”

Pelosi defended the package in the Capitol and urged “the Senate to move closer to the values” in her bill.

“We give direct payments to families in a robust way and strengthen the child tax credit and the earned income tax credit,” Pelosi said.

“Ladies and gentleman, we are done," White House legislative affairs director Eric Ueland announced as he left the office of Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell near midnight. "We have a deal."
McConnell was set to announce the deal on the Senate floor early Wednesday morning.

Trump needs to get all 1400 pages, go in front of the media, RIP up Pelosi's Poison Pork Bill and then walk out!

This is not good for our businesses to agree to any of the conditions of these loans.

Do not sign on the dotted line, do not take that loan, and do not sell your soul to that evil witch!

This virus is not the fault of our businesses.

Do not make them pay sick pay, paychecks, child care, and all the BS in that Bill. They do not want this debt AND the conditions Pelosi set forth in that Bill to get this money.

Sign an Executive Order, during this National Crisis, to transfer funds out of the Foreign Aid budget. It is our money! It is not the worlds money. We worked and earned that money to put in that budget, now give it to us to pay the paychecks! Pay Americans First! Not Mexico, not Central America, not Africa, not Syria, not Afghanistan, not nobody!

We give billions of foreign aid to countries who hate our guts for decades. Against our will. Shut that spigot off.

And just think, in a couple months, the nasty swamp scum will be fighting over passing the budget for next year. We need line item veto. And we need to stop their paychecks, with NO pay, and no backpay, until they agree on a budget and on time. No recess! We are sick of this crap.
