NC Community College Board Focuses On Immigrant Policy

The issue of whether illegal immigrants should be allowed to go to community colleges comes up again Thursday.

The N.C. Community College Board is meeting Thursday and Friday. The policy committee will consider amending the rule to allow undocumented immigrants, provided they have graduated from a high school in the U.S. and pay out of state tuition. The proposed amendments also say students "lawfully in the U.S. will have priority over undocumented immigrants" when space is limited.

How are they going to know who is and isn't illegal if there aren't allowed to ask and/or investigate? I thought one of the biggest arguments being used by proponents for allowing illegals into the colleges is that school administrators aren't immigration officers and shouldn't be required to check the legal status of individuals applying. Okay, if the colleges are knowingly admitting illegal aliens then they should be guilty of aiding and abetting illegal immigrants. I know, this has probably all been said before, however, it still doesn't reduce my anger or diminish the need for me to rant on occasion.
