NC: By having McCain, Immigration issue goes out the window
Sunday, February 10, 2008
McCain's rise might provide boost for immigration change
He, Obama, Clinton favor granting legal status
By Bertrand M. Gutierrez
JOURNAL REPORTER
Two years after Congress stopped an attempt to pass comprehensive immigration change, the tide may be shifting once again - this time in favor of giving illegal immigrants a path toward legal status, political observers say.
That unlikely turn may have taken root last week, they say, when former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, who had tried to rally conservatives by taking a tough stance on immigration, dropped out of the race for the GOP presidential nomination.
His withdrawal made Sen. John McCain the overwhelming Republican favorite ahead of Mike Huckabee, the former Arkansas governor. With McCain the GOP front-runner, and Sens. Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton as the Democratic contenders, the leading candidates in both major parties support some type of comprehensive immigration change.
That scenario left Hispanic community leaders, immigration experts and political observers equally surprised, but they expressed different points of view on what it says about U.S. voters and what it might mean for immigration changes.

The president cannot do anything if the people keep a close watch on him. The senate and congress are also a part of the picture.
America IS NOT asking them to stay in this country. America has spoken and they are AGAINST it!!!!!!!!Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)

Freedom isn't free...it is fought for. I am not some idiot person who fights for nothing......we were given something and it is our duty to fight for it. Peacefully.....at best......still trying to do that first and foremost.

"we were given something and it is our duty to fight for it. Peacefully.....at best......still trying to do that first and foremost."
I strongly fear that peacefully will not work nor will not last. The elected elite are spitting in the faces of the constituents. They are making unilateral decisions about changing our country. I want peace and peaceful resolution--I do not believe that American sovereignty will be protected by peaceful means. William Gheen has explained, to those who would listen, about the impact of a large voting bloc consisting of anchor babies who have no allegiance to the country of the USA and the voters of the 12-20 million illegal voters that McCain and the other democrats will grant amnesty to.
" "La Bandera de Estrellas."
We had better learn the Spanish version. Then it will disappear entirely and we will celebrate "Cinco de Mayo".

Because of our society today....I am afraid to say what that might mean.....but if we look at our history....that is what made us great.Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)

[b] If we do not insist on Voter ID, how can we stop illegals from voting?

I didn't bother reading the article when I saw it came from that rag in Winston Salem. They love illegals there.
