NoBueno if that $35000 head of household had remained where he was he would be making from $3500 to $7000 a year with no free or minimal public services.

Thanks for the heads-up on this usatime. It's now featured on our homepage and local news section as well! In case the rest of North Carolina isn't paying attention, this is not an unusually high percentage of Hispanic births for the area. Surrounding counties are struggling under similar burdens, and Chatam County has one of (if not) the highest Hispanic populations in the state. Expectant undocumented mothers converge on the UNC Hospitals system as a provider of choice, promoted among the undocumented community by word-of-mouth and by local pro-illegal community services organizations. Hooray for the taxpayers of North Carolina!

At UNC hospitals, they have two maternity sections. A hispanic section and non-hispanic section. When you enter, go to the right if you are hispanic and they know just how to take care of all your needs.

Just shucked out a $500 deductible for an ER visit + several hundred/month in premiums. On top of that experience, I had to wonder how many of the folks not speaking English around me were getting a free ride on the taxpayer.
