PROVO - Two defendants charged in the gang rape of a 15-year-old Provo girl were sentenced to one year in jail after pleading no contest to a lesser crime Monday.

Jose Esequiel Alcantar, 19, and Juan Carlos Guzman, 20, pleaded no contest to attempted forcible sex abuse, a third-degree felony, avoiding aggravated sex assault charges.

Alcantar and Guzman were initially charged for allegedly bringing the victim to the L&L motel in Orem in February, giving her alcohol and having sex with her against her will.

A 15-year-old co-defendant is being prosecuted in juvenile court. A fourth co-defendant, Rodolfo Arnold, Jr., 21, was allegedly last seen in Tucson, Ariz., headed south.

A $100,000 bail warrant was issued for Arnold on July 13.

Judge Steven Hansen ruled the Alcantar and Guzman could be released only for deportation by Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
