North CarolinaA North Carolina-based grassroots border enforcement advocacy group is appalled that the new Republican-controlled state Senate has hired a member of a radical Hispanic supremacy group to help redraw legislative boundaries.

For the first time in 130 years, Republicans have gained control of the state Senate, giving the GOP the power to redraw the Senate districts that will elect lawmakers for the next ten years.

William Gheen (ALIPAC)William Gheen, president of Raleigh-based Americans for Legal Immigration PAC (ALIPAC), says the people of North Carolina hoped for a legislature committed to border enforcement and the protection of U.S. citizens' jobs. However, Bob Rucho, Republican chairman of the Senate Redistricting Committee, hired Matty Lazo-Chatterton to help in the redistricting process.

"Matty Lazo-Chatterton was one of the top-tier employees of...Senate [President] Marc Basnight, the Democrat that just got dispossessed from power. His La Raza Hispanic outreach coordinator didn't leave the building for more than two minutes before a Republican...hired her and put her back in a position where she could have some influence, possibly on redistricting," Gheen reports. That "means some of our more conservative senators might just find the lines for their new districts drawn between their living room and kitchen."

The ALIPAC president decides it is against the public's interest to allow anyone involved in special interest advocacy to have the power to influence redistricting, especially when that person supports radical positions that favor amnesty for illegal immigrants.
