UPCOMING WASHINGTON FLY-IN, WEDNESDAY OCT. 12, 2011 – Center for Immigration Studies and the House Immigration Reform Caucus will Host U.S. Sheriff’s from Across America to Discuss Current Immigration/Border Issues

(Washington, DC) – On Wednesday October 12th 2011, several U.S. Sheriff’s from across the nation, including Sheriff Sam Page from Rockingham County North Carolina, will converge in Washington, D.C. to meet with the House Immigration Reform Caucus at 10am EST in the Rayburn House Office Building Room 2226 to discuss problems associated with a failure to control our U.S./Mexico border and issues plaguing current enforcement of immigration laws.

Sheriff Page has been working diligently with the Center for Immigration Studies over the past year and coordinated this effort to bring together Sheriffs from across the nation and Congressional leaders to address this issue.

While serving as President of the North Carolina Sheriffs Association in 2010-2011, Sheriff Page began hearing other Sheriffs also voicing concerns they too shared regarding illegal aliens, border security; and drug and human trafficking from Mexico impacting our local communities. Sheriff Page then travelled to the Arizona border and met with various law enforcement agencies there, learning of their experiences and witnessing firsthand the problems associated with securing the U.S. borders.
