Apr 13 2007 4:45PM
Associated Press
Bismarck, N.D. (AP) Federal officials have charged two Mexican
men arrested at a dairy near Towner with possession of false
immigration documents.
The U-S attorney's office says 31-year-old Celestino
Sanchez-Gomez and 19-year-old Jose Luis Sanchez-Flores were among
13 people arrested at the Sandhills Dairy on Tuesday.
Authorities allege that Sanchez-Gomez and Sanchez-Flores had
forms they knew were false. The charge is a felony punishable by up
to ten years in prison and a 250-thousand-dollar fine.
Prosecutors say the two men appeared in federal court today in
Minot and waived detention hearings. Assistant U-S Attorney Scott
Schneider says the evidence will be presented to a grand jury.
U-S Attorney Drew Wrigley says the investigation continues in
the cases of the other eleven who were arrested, and possibly
others.
