Nearly 1,000 migrants detained by Yuma Border Patrol this weekend




TUCSON – Nearly 1,000 undocumented immigrants were taken into custody after Yuma Sector Border Patrol agents spotted the group attempting to enter the United States illegally this weekend.

According to officials, the group of more than 900 people primarily from Central America surrendered themselves to Border Patrol Saturday and Sunday. U.S. Customs and Border Protection said the majority of the group were comprised of family units and unaccompanied children.
