SCRIBNER, Neb. -- The Scribner City Council voted unanimously to place its anti-immigrant ordinance on the November ballot for a public vote.

The ordinance would bar employing or renting residences to people living in the U.S. illegally.

Last month, the council approved the first round of an ordinance designed to prohibit hiring and renting apartments or homes to immigrants living in the U.S. illegally, similar to neighboring Fremont's ordinance, which went into effect four years ago.

The move comes as eastern Nebraska prepares for an influx of workers for Costco's new chicken processing plant, which will employ about 1,000 workers when opening next year and could change the face of Scribner's population, which is 96 percent white.

Part of the ordinance states that the presence of illegal immigrants "places a fiscal burden on the City" and their employment "displaces authorized United States workers and adversely affects their wages."

How can a rental ban be illegal when section 1324 of the US code makes it a federal felony to encourage illegals to live here.?? If anything is illegal, it is renting to illegals.

It already is a federal felony to give those benefits to illegals. Section 1324 of the US code makes it a felony to encourage illegals to live here. Like obama, trump doesn't enforce the law.

Set up a task force to FIRE government employees awarding US taxpayer benefits to ILLEGAL ALIENS.
