Need one's amnesty be anothers surrender?

Lawmakers, more interested in future Latino votes than protecting American jobs or security, delivered amnesty advocates an early Christmas present last week: H.R. 4321.

The bill sponsored by Rep. Solomon Ortiz (D-Texas), but credited to Rep. Luis Gutierrez (D-Ill.), could promote another 48 million immigrants under the guise of family unity. It has been referred to the House committees on the Judiciary, Homeland Security, Armed Services, Foreign Affairs, Natural Resources, Ways and Means, Education and Labor, Oversight and Government Reform, and House Administration.

In its present form, the legislation would repeal the successful 287 (g) program allowing local cops to assist the feds in enforcing immigration law. The amnesty bill would also prohibit the Department of Homeland Security from apprehending suspects “on the premises or in the immediate vicinity of 13 locations including community, educational, and religious locations.â€
