NJ: Crowded housing issue worth pursuing
Crowded housing issue worth pursuing
August 11, 2008
Igive credit to Middletown Mayor Gerard Scharfenberger and the Township Council for their attempt to rein in overcrowded rental units. ("Plan: Punish illegal immigrants' landlords," July 8.) Their motives, whether to curb the overcrowded units, the cost of mandated services for illegal immigrants or illegal immigration within their community, does not matter to me one iota.
What does matter to me is that I see a politician dealing with this issue. It does little to say that a law is on the books, or another agency should deal with this, if it is not occurring. ("Don't blur responsibilities," editorial, July 14.)
Asking for documentation and copying such does not place an undue burden on the landlord. This simple act may nip the problem in the bud and deter illegal immigrants from settling in Middletown.
The only way to deal with these issues may be on the local level when state and federal governments are remiss in their duties. I hope Middletown officials craft this ordinance in a manner that it withstands judicial scrutiny, and that other towns follow suit.

Well deary landlords it is a fact that it is a tax burden for the taxpayer of America to let you have deduction to bring your earning into a negative balance any further.
Negative income is permitted on the front of a tax form 1040. Go and read about, or simply look at the forms of Schedule C, D, and E.
Schedule C is business deduction. They can deduct all cost: property taxes, water bill, yard work, and on and on. And don't forget depreciations.
Now, Schedule E is the same as C above.
And guess what landlords do to keep from capital gain taxes - they trade properties within a group and the depreciation starts all over.
And do you think if they are getting three times the rental amount that the landlords are reporting this income

No citizen status must equal no housing!
Enforce our laws and the problem will be solved...
Only legal citizens should be given housing....anyone that rents or sells property to illegals is aiding and abetting criminals and should be punished to the fullest extent of the law! If our laws had been enforced in the firs place, this housing crisis would not exist… the American people should not be made to paid for the lack of legal procedure followed by their local, state and federal government...
This is the kind of thing that Menendez can be proud of as he and others like him are directly responcible for this problem...just wait until the food and water resources are dwidling due to the influx of the illegals... AKA party time for Illegals advocates!
