No Sanctuary For Americans In The United States

San Francisco Mayor, Gavin Newsome launched an $83,000 ‘public awareness campaign’ this year to let illegal aliens in this nation know that they are welcome in his city, and not only does Mayor Newsome want the illegal aliens to feel welcome, he also wants them to feel safe and have every confidence that the city by the bay is a sanctuary city where illegal aliens will be protected.

In 1989, San Francisco became one of the first cities in the United States to adopt an official policy of giving sanctuary to illegal aliens. Under San Francisco’s 1989 City of Refuge ordinance city officials and police were prohibited from providing information to federal immigration authorities concerning illegal aliens, including those that were arrested for felony crimes such as rape and murder. In 1992 the city of San Francisco amended its sanctuary law to remove the protections it gave to criminal suspects but the police department continued to disregard the immigration status of arrested felons. The city of San Francisco has gone far beyond simply ignoring federal immigration laws by becoming actively engaged in shielding immigration law violators from U.S. justice. Last May it came to light that the city’s juvenile-court system had used tax money collected from San Francisco residents to fly an illegal alien convicted of selling cocaine back to his home country of Honduras rather than turn the criminal over to federal immigration authorities. As it later turned out, this was not the first time the city had done this, and since 2006 San Francisco has spent more than $50,000 flying illegal aliens out of the country to their country of origin. Furthermore, it has recently come out that the city has spent more than $2,3 million dollars in tax money housing over one hundred illegal alien juvenile criminals in group homes. This came to light after eight of the illegal alien juvenile criminals simply walked away from their unsupervised group home in Yucaipa, California and the San Bernardino County citizens went ballistic. Apparently they had no idea that San Francisco was dumping its trash in their county and they have threatened to file a lawsuit against the sanctuary city if they don’t immediately stop this practice.

San Francisco’s sanctuary ordinances have received more attention recently because one of the illegal alien jewels they recently released onto their own streets, without bothering to notify federal immigration authorities, shot and killed a father and his two sons on their way home from a family get together. On June 22, Edwin Ramos shot and killed Anthony Bologna, 48, and his son Michael, 20 years old. Matthew Bologna, 16 years old who was also shot by Ramos during the incident died later at San Francisco General Hospital. Despite the San Francisco Police Department’s knowledge that Ramos was in this country illegally he was released from custody three months prior to the killing. Ramos had two prior felony convictions as a juvenile but the federal immigration authorities were never notified of his illegal presence in the country or his impending release from custody because of the city’s sanctuary policy. The San Francisco Police Department did not have to check Edwin Ramos’ immigration status because they already knew that he was an illegal alien from Honduras. As far as they are concerned, the federal immigration laws don’t exist, and as a direct result Anthony Bologna and his sons were killed. The city of San Francisco was a sanctuary for illegal alien, Edwin Ramos but it provided no such protection for the Bologna family who were American citizens.

The city of Las Angeles has adopted a more subtle approach to implementing their version of illegal alien sanctuary ordinances. Instead of passing a resolution officially announcing a sanctuary policy the city officials in Los Angeles amended the regulations for the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) to prohibit their officers from checking the immigration status of the people they arrest. Effectively the changes the city made to the LAPD manual of operations are the equivalent of a full blown sanctuary policy for the city, but since no official sanctuary policy is actually written into the city policies, the city officials can deny the adoption of a sanctuary policy even though that is exactly what they have done.

264.50 ENFORCEMENT OF UNITED STATES IMMIGRATION LAWS. Officers shall not initiate police action where the objective is to discover the alien status of a person. Officers shall neither arrest nor book persons for violation of Title 8, Section 1325 of the United States Immigration Code (Illegal Entry).

390. UNDOCUMENTED ALIENS. Undocumented alien status in itself is not a matter for police action. It is, therefore, incumbent upon all employees of this Department to make a personal commitment to equal enforcement of the law and service to the public regardless of alien status.

Illegal alien, Pedro Espinoza, the 19-year-old gang banger arrested for the March 2nd murder of high school student Jamile Shaw, had been a member of the 18th street gang since he was 12 years old. He was a known quantity and the LAPD knew very well that he was an illegal alien. Up until the day before he murdered Jamile Shaw, Pedro Espinoza was in jail on charges of exhibiting a firearm, assault with a deadly weapon and obstructing an officer. The day after his arrest on these charges LAPD investigators talked to a relative of Espinoza’s who advised them that Pedro was smuggled into the United States illegally when he was 4 years old. Despite this, the LAPD did not contact federal immigration authorities, and after four months in jail, Pedro Espinoza was turned loose on the streets of Los Angeles and less than 24 hours later he killed Jamile Shaw without any sort of provocation. Pedro Espinoza benefitted from the protection that Los Angeles’ sanctuary policy affords illegal aliens, but that sanctuary policy did nothing to protect Jamile Shaw, the American citizen that Espinoza gunned down.

There are hundreds of cities in the United States that have adopted illegal alien sanctuary policies, either openly like San Francisco or under the table like Los Angeles. Regardless of how brazen these cities are about offering their protection to illegal aliens the sad fact of the matter is that the protection of illegal aliens comes at the high cost of the victimized innocent American citizens slaughtered every year in increasing numbers by illegal alien predators. The sanctuary laws put the criminal invaders back on the immigrant-saturated city streets where they can fade into the woodwork without the federal immigration authorities being notified, and the illegal aliens go right back to doing what they are good at which is preying on innocent American citizens too dumb to realize that they’ve been set up like so many sacrificial lambs by their own city officials.

The murder of Anthony Bologna and his sons in San Francisco by an illegal alien is not a rare event. The murder of Jamile Shaw in Los Angeles by an illegal alien is not a rare event. Thousands of American citizens are murdered by illegal aliens in the United States every year and thousands more are raped, their lives traumatized forever. Hundreds of American children are kidnapped and sexually abused in unthinkable ways by illegal aliens every year in the United States and thousands more are killed by illegal aliens driving drunk. The citizens and legal residents of the United States are the preferred prey of the millions of illegal alien criminals and the politicians we have ignorantly voted into office stand idly back doing nothing to stop the carnage because there is no sanctuary for Americans in the United States.
