Peter's Sellers' daughter arrested in LA on immigration violation

LOS ANGELES - Victoria Sellers, daughter of the late actor Peter Sellers, was arrested Monday in Hollywood on immigration violations and will be deported to Britain, federal authorities said.

Sellers was being held in an Orange County detention center after immigration agents arrested her at an apartment, according to Jim Hayes, a field office director for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. She was taken into custody without incident.

"She was very calm," Hayes said. "She gave no resistance."

He said she would be removed to Britain as soon as possible, but declined to say when.

Sellers, 41, was a U.S. permanent resident until April 2002, when an immigration judge ordered her removed from the country for a past criminal conviction, and had been living in the country illegally ever since with a warrant for her arrest, Hayes said.

Attempts to reach Sellers were unsuccessful. There were no listings for her and it was unclear whether she had retained an attorney.

In May 1994, she was charged with receiving stolen jewelry. Prosecutors contended she had rings and bracelets taken during an April robbery spree allegedly committed by a then-boyfriend and another man.

After pleading guilty in the case, she was sentenced to 13 days in jail and placed on three years' probation.

In January 1995, she was arrested in West Hollywood after she approached sheriff's deputies who had stopped a car driven by an acquaintance.

Sellers appeared to be under the influence of drugs and several grams of methamphetamines were found in her purse, so she was arrested, authorities said. It was her second drug arrest in two years. She was sentenced to 120 days in jail in the case.

A sometime actress, Sellers appeared in "Sex Tips with Heidi Fleiss and Victoria Sellers" and other projects.

Peter Sellers, who died in 1980, starred in such films as "Being There" and "The Pink Panther" series. Victoria Sellers' mother, actress Britt Ekland, appeared in the James Bond film "The Man with the Golden Gun" and 1971's "Get Carter."

Last year, ICE agents arrested more than 2,800 suspected immigration violators, authorities said.

Let me get this straight now........

So, we expend the Police and the cost of the police & courts to go get an ILLEGAL WHITE GAL but we have millions upon millions of ILLEGALS soliciting work and running around everywhere in the broad daylight, getting food stamps and free medical, not to mention education but THEY ARE NOT ARRESTED & DEPORTED? So damned quickly to boot!!

Why is this? Is it because 'white Illegals' are priority and 'brown illegals' get preferential treatment?

Is this reverse RACISM? I'm very confused and very much need help here.

What's so special about this one breaking the deportation laws and NOT all the criminals that are let loose &/or plea bargain their way back onto the American streets.

Let me get this straight. We have tens of millions...at least 20 million immigration violators in the US and authorities said they "arrested" 2,800 last year?

Do they mean legals whose papers have expired or who have violated their papers by committing crimes or something?

This number of 2,800 is so small if I were the "authorities" I'd be ashamed to report it.

DEPORT THEM ALL...with their minor kids and do it NOW.

This is just a disgrace...the incompetency of this government. All the money we've spent on defense, security and law enforcement at federal, state and local levels ... and all we've gotten is lies, whines, betrayals, games and more BS than I can bear to listen to. And all of them are going to say now "hey, we'll do it now but give us more money". Well what are we getting for the money we're already spending? Nothing. We've gotten nothing but Treason and Lies and Games.

What a mess we have on our hands, folks, what a filthy disgusting mess.

Hate to hear Peter Seller's daughter is involved in criminal activities.

He was my favorite comedian, had more laughs with those Pink Panthers than any movie in recent times.

Hope she has friends in Britain that can straighten her out.
