If Congress gets around to punishing sanctuary cities, as it should, it must sting bad enough to end it once and for all. One offense should end all federal assistance to that city for a period equal to practicing sanctuary policies. It should include any and all federal aid ceased, no road or bridge funds, no SNAP benefits, no Medicaid, no hospital assistance funding, the whole enchilada should be shut off. Some will say punishing the innocent, is it really. Did not the voters play a part in accepting sanctuary city? Maybe even promoting it? There are no innocent here.

Rep. Duncan Hunter, R-Calif., will introduce a bill restricting funding to local municipalities that refuse to comply with federal immigration requests, "known as sanctuary cities."
