KINGSBURY — Officers from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement arrested two illegal immigrants from Mexico on Tuesday morning at a home off Route 4.

A spokesman for the agency said two men who were in the country illegally were taken into custody near a home as part of a "targeted enforcement action" that was termed "routine."

No other details were released, and no local police agencies were involved in the matter.

KINGSBURY — One of two illegal immigrants who were arrested Tuesday at a home on Route 4 in Kingsbury has been charged with a felony for re-entering the country after being deported.

Juan C. Gonzalez-Hernandez, 26, was charged with re-entry of a previously removed alien, a felony, in U.S. District Court in Albany, court records show.

He was arraigned before U.S. Magistrate Judge Daniel Stewart and sent to Rensselaer County Jail without bail.

He was one of two Mexican nationals arrested Tuesday morning when U.S. Immigrations and Customs Enforcement agents questioned them near the home where they were staying.

A spokesman for the agency said the arrests were the result of a "routine" enforcement effort.

The other illegal immigrant, whose name was not released, was not criminally charged and was being held pending deportation proceedings.
