6 Votes!!!! Banana Republic here we come...this goes against the Constitution doesn't it, or is it against State's rights???? But come to think of it, isn't this the same state that gave Bloomberg a third term because he wanted it!!!!

How do you combat this kind of thinking????

They will have to take it to the US Supreme Court and rule cumulative voting unconstitutional, because it's 1 person with 1 vote per candidate.
And those votes would be CITIZEN VOTES ONLY. And you have to show ID. If it goes to court, might as well get it all done at once.
Absolutely redpony353, and get it all done at once. They could for some of our senior citizens, especially black Americans, many of whom were born at home, provide an exemption for them, say 75 and older, which that should take care of that objection to voter ID, and then require ID for everyone else.

Oh thats right. I forgot that some elderly were not born in hospitals. But we are really talking about a small number of people who were born at home. Some African Americans...and also some American Indians. But their citizenship has been established over the years with some form of ID. At that age they are collecting SS and getting Medicare. They must have established some form of ID to get those things. I would go so far as to say that when we vote we should show ID and give a fingerprint. Just to make sure that some are not using stolen or fake ID's. And to make sure they are not voting more than once with different ID's.

Yes, that's right, it's a very small number of people, mostly quite elderly and mostly black American, so if they just exempted those elderly black Americans from the Photo ID requirement or helped them get a photo ID when they vote so they can have it for the next election, take their photo right there at the voting place and give them an ID for voting purposes, then they'd be all set for the next election. Those facilities are portable like they have at the driver's license offices, in fact they could move them over to the voting polls for the first couple of elections and then you wouldn't have to worry about it after that, but for the rare straggler who didn't vote in those 2 elections.

There are simple solutions to this objection. I've had to show an ID to vote in the several states I've lived in so there's no bona fide issue with requiring an ID to vote.

There are simple solutions to everything, but none of that would be as much fun.
You go to vote, show ID (and pray that they have done a check that you are a citizen, before Pablo or Vladimir show a fake ID to vote.) You go to voting booth and the ballot has six slots for village council. For seat one you have choice of three people; for two only one incumbent, etc. Then you vote on the new ordinance about trash collection and on and on. It is one ballot with six candidates for positions, or one ballot with only the candidates that belong in that district's election.
Does that mean the trash collection ordinance on the same ballot will also get six votes to accept or reject?
This judge should be disrobed and thrown off the bench.
