MIDDLETOWN, Ohio -- Undercover agents said they purchased forged identification documents from an illegal immigrant.

Officers said they bought two Kentucky identification cards, two Social Security cards and two permanent residency cards from Abel Gaston Gudino-Arenas, a Mexican who told police he is in this country illegally.

Agents said they asked Arenas, 33, to create an ID for a Pakistani named Khalid S. Mohammed, which is the name of the confessed mastermind of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks and several bombings.

Arenas did not hesitate to make that document, said Butler County Sheriff Richard Jones, and was arrested when he delivered the requested items Wednesday afternoon to an undercover agent.

Deputies said Arenas was in possession of marked money related to the investigation, and officers said they seized from his Middletown residence two laptop computers, three printers, $540 cash, a 1993 Nissan Altima and more than 330 blank identification cards.

Some of those cards were being prepared to be made into identification from Guatemala and seven U.S. states, authorities said.

Arenas admitted to producing the forged documents for more than three months, police said, and is being held in the Butler County Jail.

He is charged with six felony counts of forgery and one misdemeanor count of not having an operator's license, and faces possible deportation, officials said.
