Caught 200 illegal aliens? What about the 2-3,000 or more that got into our country. This is ridiculous. The border patrol catches that many by themselves. Deterrant, I think not as they cannot catch, detain or even guard illegal aliens. Just another waste of our tax dollars.

This is sad...sad...sad.
I don't know alot about the armed services. But we have been "in a state of WAR "for what 3-4- years? They are sending our National Guard to fight in a war and they have to "train" them for border service? I'm sorry...I don't understand. I was shocked they sent them to WAR with alot less training than I thought they should have had to have. I figured "border security" would have been a regular part of it. Or ...is our National Guard so depleated that they are talking about new recruits?Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)

I actually think that the word "training" is a euphamism for "we're dragging our feet, so we can hold off actually doing anything before the Laughing Amnesty Seven get away with selling America to Mexico for slightly more than the Louisiana Purchase." What would have been smarter for El Gobierno to say is "our National Guard, some of whom have just returned from duty from Afghanistan or Iraq, are still resting and recuperating, but they will be deployed on the border after the holiday; all states are reassured that the Federal government is paying for the cost; citizens of the border states, please direct your governors to cooperate."
But that would make sense, so, we'll have to make do with what they did say."I have not yet begun to fight!" John Paul Jones

Everyone should give the White House a call (comment line) -
(202) 456-1111 Press 1 then Press 1 again and will get live person.
First tell him what a bad job he is doing and then let him know that We Americans know about the National Guard lie --- to prove to him that WE know his May 15 TV appearance was a lieing sham and that essentially --- HIS WORDS HAVE NO MORE CREDIBILITY to US or to CONGRESS--

Iig - I agree. If GW was truly concerned about securing our borders it would have been done shortly after 911. His lip service to securing our borders is just that lip service. He has the power right now to secure the border. He just isn't doing it. You have to ask why?

So after the remaining 1,816 National guard complete their "training somewhere in the four states" the Border patrol can give them instructions on what they cannot do, such as catch, detain or even guard illegal aliens.
Based upon the estimated numbers, over the last few years there have been 1 - 2 million illegal aliens crossing the border each year, an average of 2739 - 5480 each day.
At the rate of 200 per day, it would take 5,000 days, or 13.69 years to catch 1 million.
At the rate of 200 per week, it would take 5,000 weeks, or 96.15 years to catch 1 million.
This is a complex operation, it is nothing like invading a country located on a different continent. It doesn't take this long to mobilize an already trained military force.

I think the Bush administration has found a way to resolve the 20 trillion dollar deficit problem - which they can not even afford to pay the interest on. Following Mexico's example, the US can absolve its debts by changing its national identity (to something like the North American Union).
- Doing so would also invalidate our constitution, which Bush refers to as "just a piece of paper", just another obstacle to our Nazi president.Democrat or Republican, they are all politicians.
