There appears to be an inordinate amount of time and resources expended on these fruitless drug arrests which don't make any difference at all. If you want to stop the drugs coming across the border, then legalize the drug trade in the United States, make it a domestic only business, no imports, owned and operated from A to Z by US citizens only, regulate it for quality and quantity, tax it under the FairTax, use a portion of these taxes only drug users would pay when they purchase the drugs to better educate the public about the risks of using drugs and pay for free rehab on demand without stigma for anyone who wants or needs it, and shut down these foreign cartels. They can't survive without the American market. They'll all go broke. Then they won't need their army of illegal aliens to run and distribute the drugs, they won't need firearms to defend their criminal business, they won't need to buy up politicians to keep borders open, and they won't be sucking $300 billion a year of our money out of our economy.
