Organization Rises For Father Out Of Son's Murder

Group Promises To Fight Illegal Immigrants

The night that Kevin Barnhill's body was found outside of a Mason bar, his father had thought about illegal immigration only a little.

However, it would soon dominate his life.

"All that we can hold on to, at this point, is ok, this happened to our son," said Kevin's father Bill Barnhill. "Let's not let it happen to anybody else. Because it is a problem that is not going away."

The problem that Bill talked about is the two men who police say murdered his son. Illegal immigrants, Humberto Mota who is in police custody for the murder and Enrique Torres who, authorities fear, may have fled to Mexico. Police say that both men had been deported before.

Barnhill got with some friends who shared his concern and they decided that they had to do something about the illegal immigrants in the area.

Barnhill is now the president of Citizens for Legal Communities, a group that has gotten the attention of two sheriffs, a prosecutor and two state legislators who all attended the first public meeting.

The group supports the ability of local law enforcement to be able to have the power to arrest illegal immigrants and punishing employers who hire them and making english the official language.

The group sees things in black and white. There is no gray area for workers rights here or for someone to come here illegally who doesn't hurt anyone and is looking for a job.

"You can put all the fluff you want on it," said Barnhill. "This isn't an issue of social deviance, this is an issue of legal of illegal, being lawful or unlawful."

The group said that they will not stop until there is reform.
