Chambersburg man faces statutory assault charges

William A. Ramos, 19, of Chambersburg, faces charges after having sexual relations with a 15-year-old in Cumberland County back in June.

State police at Carlisle said Ramos, who was also found to be illegally in the United States from El Salavador, was arrested in Chambersburg over a June 24 incident on Greenspring Road in North Newton Township.

He is being detained at Cumberland County Prison on $100,000 strait bail and also has an Immigration Customs Enforcement Detainer, police said.

Ramos is charged with statutory sexual assault, aggravated indecent assault and indecent assault.

Chambersburg police assisted in the investigation.
