Pakistan’s Khan denounces Macron for ‘encouragement of Islamophobia’ and trying to ‘deliberately provoke’ Muslims

OCT 26, 2020 9:00 AM BY ROBERT SPENCER 2 COMMENTS

Khan says that “by attacking Islam, clearly without having any understanding of it, President Macron has attacked and hurt the sentiments of millions of Muslims in Europe and across the world, The last thing the world wants or needs is further polarization. Public statements based on ignorance will create more hate, Islamophobia and space for extremists.”
As I have noted many times, for Islamic supremacists, any resistance to jihad violence, no matter how mild, is “Islamophobia” and “hate,” and an attempt to “provoke” Muslims. Those who tut-tut over the Muhammad cartoons and counsel surrender to violent intimidation fail to take this into account: if you stop whatever it is that supposedly provokes jihadis, there will not be peace. They’ll just find something else that provokes them, and that you’ll therefore have to give up forthwith.

“PM Imran denounces French president’s ‘encouragement of Islamophobia,'” Dawn, October 25, 2020:
Prime Minister Imran Khan on Sunday denounced what he called was “encouragement of Islamophobia” by French President Emmanuel Macron, saying the European leader had chosen to “deliberately provoke” Muslims, including his own citizens.
In a series of tweets, the premier said that the sign of a leader was that he united people, like former South African president Nelson Mandela. “This is a time when President Macron could have put [a] healing touch and denied space to extremists rather than creating further polarization and marginalization that inevitably leads to radicalization,” he said.
The premier regretted that the French president had instead chosen to encourage Islamophobia by “attacking Islam rather than the terrorists who carry out violence, be it Muslims, White Supremacists or Nazi ideologists”.
He was referring to comments made on Wednesday by President Macron in which he criticized Islamists and vowed not to “give up cartoons” depicting the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). He also contended that Samuel Paty — a teacher who was beheaded last month for showing sketches of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) — was “killed because Islamists want our future”.
Prime Minister Imran said that “by attacking Islam, clearly without having any understanding of it, President Macron has attacked and hurt the sentiments of millions of Muslims in Europe and across the world”.
“The last thing the world wants or needs is further polarization. Public statements based on ignorance will create more hate, Islamophobia and space for extremists,” he added.
PTI ministers also denounced Macron’s remarks on Twitter. Planning Minister Asad Umar said that freedom of expression was not without limits, pointing out that 16 European countries criminalize denial of the Jewish holocaust. He also observed that it was a criminal offence to insult the monarch in the United Kingdom.
“Allowing people free reign to insult the Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) under the garb of freedom of expression while protecting institutions and history sacrosanct to other religious beliefs and national symbols is pure hypocrisy and condemnable,” he said….

Jordan condemns Muhammad cartoons and ‘misleading attempts to link Islam with terrorism’

OCT 26, 2020 11:00 AM BY ROBERT SPENCER 5 COMMENTS

What is Jordan doing to ensure that no Muslim in the future will decide that the proper response to those offensive cartoons is to behead the person who shows them? Why, nothing at all, of course. But if it genuinely wanted to delink Islam and terrorism, it would be working on that, rather than on trying to mislead non-Muslims by obfuscating the fact that Islamic law prescribes death for blasphemy, and thus from the standpoint of that law, the beheading was justified.

“PM Imran denounces French president’s ‘encouragement of Islamophobia,'” Dawn, October 25, 2020:
…Nayef Falah Mubarak Al-Hajraf, secretary general of the Gulf Cooperation Council, called Macron’s words “irresponsible” on Friday, and said they would “increase the spread of a culture of hatred”.
Jordan’s foreign ministry said it condemns the “continued publication of caricatures of the Prophet (PBUH) under the pretext of freedom of expression” and any “discriminatory and misleading attempts that seek to link Islam with terrorism”.

Erdogan: Raid on Berlin mosque ‘nourished by racism and Islamophobia,’ brings Europe ‘closer to Middle Ages’

OCT 26, 2020 4:00 PM BY ROBERT SPENCER 4 COMMENTS

Here yet again we see that anytime a Muslim organization runs afoul of the law for any reason, opportunistic supremacists such as Erdogan will portray this as a manifestation of “Islamophobia,” defined as the unfair targeting of innocent Muslims, which is so rare in real life that incidents of it have to be manufactured.
Erdogan is, meanwhile, on extremely thin rhetorical ice when he says that this raid brings Europe closer to the Middle Ages. Throughout the Middle Ages, Muslims were waging bloody jihad against Europe. Erdogan would prefer you did not remember that. Also recall the precarious position of Christians in Turkey, and the recent conversion of the historic Hagia Sophia and Chora churches to mosques.

“Police raid on Berlin mosque brings ‘Europe closer to Middle Ages’– Erdogan,” TRT World, October 24, 2020 (thanks to Mason):
The German police raided Mevlana Mosque in Berlin on Wednesday over what it said was a financial investigation. The mosque rejected the allegation.
Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has denounced a German police raid earlier this week on a mosque in Berlin.
“I strongly condemn the police raid on Mevlana Mosque in Berlin during the morning prayers,” Erdogan said on Twitter, adding the police action was “obviously nourished by racism and Islamophobia, totally flouting freedom of belief, and bringing Europe closer to the darkness of the Middle Ages.”
“Europe, which for years has been referred to as the cradle of democracy, human rights, and freedoms, has today unfortunately turned into a structure that fights its differences,” Erdogan said.
Erdogan stressed that Turkey would never allow any excuse for vulgar violations of any place of worship.
Turkey will decisively continue its global fight against racism, xenophobia and Islamophobia, he added….

‘Boycott French products’ trending in eight Arab countries over Macron’s comments on Islam

OCT 26, 2020 3:00 PM BY ROBERT SPENCER 16 COMMENTS

Here again we see that even the slightest pushback against the advancing jihad is immediately characterized in all too many quarters of the Muslim world as a gratuitous attack on a wholly innocent Islam, a manifestation of “Islamophobia” and “hate” that all decent people must reject.

“‘Boycott French products’ launched over Macron’s Islam comments,” Al Jazeera, October 25, 2020 (thanks to David):
Several Arab trade associations have announced the boycott of French products, protesting the recent comments made by President Emmanuel Macron on Islam.
Earlier this month, Macron pledged to fight “Islamist separatism”, which he said was threatening to take control in some Muslim communities around France.
He also described Islam as a religion “in crisis” worldwide and said the government would present a bill in December to strengthen a 1905 law that officially separated church and state in France.
His comments, in addition to his backing of satirical outlets publishing caricatures of the Prophet Muhammad, has led to a social media campaign calling for the boycott of French products from supermarkets in Arab countries and Turkey.
Hashtags such as the #BoycottFrenchProducts in English and the Arabic #ExceptGodsMessenger trended across countries including Kuwait, Qatar, Palestine, Egypt, Algeria, Jordan, Saudi Arabia and Turkey….
In a statement, Kuwait’s foreign ministry warned against the support of abuses and discriminatory policies that link Islam to terrorism, saying it “represents a falsification of reality, insults the teachings of Islam, and offends the feelings of Muslims around the world”.
On Friday, the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) condemned what it said was France’s continued attack against Muslims by insulting religious symbols.
The secretariat of the Jeddah-based organisation said in a statement it is surprised at the official political rhetoric issued by some French officials that offend French-Islamic relations and fuels feelings of hatred for political party gains.

Hamas-linked CAIR demands France be investigated for ‘collective punishment’ of Muslims after jihad beheading

OCT 27, 2020 9:00 AM BY ROBERT SPENCER 9 COMMENTS

Hamas-linked CAIR is getting CAIRless: this press release is riddled with errors. The United States Commission on International Religious Freedom is USCIRF, not USCIFR. The man who was beheaded in France for showing a Muhammad cartoon was Samuel Paty, not Samuel Petty (they do get it right the second time). Apparently having the establishment media and numerous gutless and/or witless government and law enforcement officials under your thumb can make you complacent enough to slight the details.
Anyway, here we go yet again: any counterterror measure, no matter how mild, is “collective punishment” of Muslims and must be ended. Hamas-linked CAIR has so consistently opposed such measures that one might get the impression that they want the jihad to advance unimpeded. Inconceivable, right?
Reminder: CAIR is an unindicted co-conspirator in a Hamas terror funding case — so named by the Justice Department. CAIR officials have repeatedly refused to denounce Hamas and Hizballah as terrorist groups. Several former CAIR officials have been convicted of various crimes related to jihad terror. CAIR’s cofounder and longtime Board chairman, Omar Ahmad, as well as its chief spokesman, Ibrahim “Honest Ibe” Hooper, have made Islamic supremacist statements about how Islamic law should be imposed in the U.S. (Ahmad denies this, but the original reporter stands by her story.)
Even worse, CAIR chapters frequently distribute pamphlets telling Muslims not to cooperate with law enforcement. CAIR has opposed virtually every anti-terror measure that has been proposed or implemented and has been declared a terror organization by the United Arab Emirates. CAIR’s Hussam Ayloush in 2017 called for the overthrow of the U.S. government. CAIR’s national outreach manager is an open supporter of Hamas.

“CAIR Calls on U.S. Religious Freedom Commission (USCIFR) [sic] to Probe France’s Anti-Religion Laws and ‘Collective Punishment’ of French Muslim Community,” by Ayan Ajeen, CAIR, October 22, 2020 (thanks to Robert):
(WASHINGTON, D.C., 10/22/20) – The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, has called on the United States Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIFR) [sic] to investigate the France’s ongoing campaign of “collective punishment” against the French Muslim community, as well as France’s longstanding history of turning anti-religious bigotry into government policy.
In the days since the horrific murder of educator Samuel Petty [sic], France has arrested numerous French Muslims with no apparent connection to the crime and threatened to shut down various French Muslim organizations, including the country’s largest anti-Islamophobia group.
In a statement, CAIR Government Affairs Director Robert S. McCaw said:
“The French government has responded to the horrific murder of teacher Samuel Paty by collectively smearing and punishing the French Muslim community at-large instead of only targeting those individuals responsible for this crime. This despite the fact that the French Muslim community vocally and strongly condemned the crime.
“We encourage USCIFR to investigate and oppose the French government’s ongoing campaign of collective punishment, as well as its history of restricting freedom of religion: kicking students who wear crosses, kippas and hijabs out of school, barring public servants from wearing such signs of their faith, criminalizing religious face veils while requiring medical face masks, and arresting Muslim women for wearing full-body swimsuits at the beach, among other irrational policies.”
