FLORENCE, AZ (CBS5) -Four men from Mexico, including one who admitted to being previously deported from the United States 14 times, were turned over to the U.S. Border Patrol after their arrests Sunday on Interstate 10 in Pinal County.

A deputy stopped a 1999 Honda Civic with four men inside for a traffic violation, according to a PCSO news release.

The driver, Cesar Martinez, 23, told the deputy he had just bought the car from an unidentified woman and that he didn't have a driver's license because he was in the country illegally, according to the release.

The other passengers also admitted to being in the country illegally, according to the release.

The U.S. Border Patrol confirmed that Tomas Rivera-Flores, 33, had been deported 14 times.

The deputy said he smelled the odor of marijuana in the car and his K9 acted accordingly, but no pot was found.

PINAL COUNTY, Ariz. -One of four passengers in a vehicle pulled over for a traffic stop on Sunday has already been deported 14 times.

A Pinal County Sheriff's K-9 deputy stopped a car on I-10 for a traffic violation.

Inside the car was a driver and three passengers, all of whom told deputies they are in the US illegally and don't have driver's licenses.

PCSO says the deputy could smell marijuana coming from the inside of the car.

The driver, 23-year-old Cesar Martinez, told the deputy he had just purchased the car that day.

One of the passengers, 33-year-old Tomas Rivera-Flores, allegedly claimed he had already been deported from the US 14 times.

    Border Patrol confirmed Rivera-Flores' claims.

PCSO says their K-9 checked the vehicle and confirmed the car was used to transport marijuana, but there wasn't any inside during the traffic stop.

All four people were turned over to the U.S. Border Patrol for deportation.

FLORENCE, Ariz. (AP) — Pinal County authorities say a Mexican man arrested for being in the county illegally had already been deported 14 times.

County Sheriff’s officials say 33-year-old Tomas Rivera-Flores was taken into custody last Sunday.

He was a passenger in a car that was pulled over for a traffic violation on Interstate 10.

Authorities say all four occupants were in the country illegally and none had a driver’s license.

The deputy who made the stop says he could smell marijuana coming from the inside of the vehicle. It turned out the vehicle had earlier been used to transport the drug.

U.S. Border Patrol officials confirmed that Rivera-Flores had been deported 14 times. He and the other three people were turned over to border officials for deportation and the vehicle was seized.
