    State Stands To Lose U.S. House Seat

    Based on 2010 predictions recently released by the Census Bureau, Pennsylvania appears to be losing seat in the U.S. House, going from 19 seats to 18. Other northern states will be losing seats as well, with southern and western states gaining representation.

    Article 1, sec. 2 of the U.S. Constitution mandates the federal government undertake the effort of performing a decennial census to enumerate the population. The results of the population survey, conducted by the U.S. Census Bureau, are then used to determine the number of congressional seats awarded to the states, a state’s electoral votes and funding for government programs.

    In calculating a state’s census, the bureau takes into account a number of factors, one of which is “international migration,â€

    I think we need to get rid of this type of voting and just go to the popular vote. This bit about congressional seats is sutpid and unfair.

    In my opinion, illegals SHOULD NOT BE COUNTED IN THE CENSUS ANYWAY. They are here ILLEGALLY and their presence in the country should not count. Just as they should not be receiving assistance at the expense of the American taxpayers. This is a very foolish thing for our government to do. They are treated better than WE THE PEOPLE ARE and whats right about that?
