Where does a privately owned business fall under housing, city services, or any other category these folks police?

Also, I'd like to know why he has no right asking people to order in English. After all, he and all of his employees speak English. It just makes sense, for the sake of good customer service, to be sure they get an order correct. How are they to do that if someone orders in a language they do not understand?
That's right! Does he have to have a translator for every language that visits the town. If so, all businesses would have to do that. Also, its a safety issue because if you are allergic to certain foods his business needs to know so that you don't get that ingredient. His cooks needs to know in English what that ingredient is.

Geno's sign says.........."When ordering, please speak English"
He does NOT require that you speak English in order to get a cheessteak. You can twitch your nose and he'll work with you.
He's just expressing his opinion on this VERY little card. What the heck don't people understand? Where is there discrimination here????

If an illegal alien is offended or bothered....it's discriminatory. At least that's how it works in Philadelphia. We'll be reporting after the hearing on Friday.

That's a very good point GoGo....I hadn't thought of the allergy issue but you are absolutely right.

Isn't that the truth? And it's all over anymore.

What gets me is how they use it for everything....no matter how minor.

Just this past weekend we had an incident that required calling the police when a spanish speaking woman came into my office asking about use of the rec hall at our development.

My husband explained to her that it is only for use by tenants (per the insurance company) and this woman went totally berserk screaming that we were racist and discriminatory. When my husband pointed out that, in case she had not noticed, he is Hispanic she started screeching that he is an American who is racist against Mexicans (huh?), a traitor to Mexico (? ?), and thinks he can discriminate against them because they aren't legal.

She was completely out of control, threw her phone at him, and as I said, we had to call the police. One officer told my husband not to be surprised when the court papers arrive because she said she plans to sue for discrimination but that we shouldn't worry about it. If she does it will be thrown out for no grounds.

But can you imagine all of this over something so minor? I mean, seriously, where does a simple inquiry, turn into a race and discrimination issue?

    It's ridiculous.

I would have filed an assault charge against her and since she admitted she was here illegally, called ICE.

I agree. If she files, I would file a suit against her for assault. I think this is another set up deal to try to make cases. I would sue her for attorney's fees etc.

My husband met Joey at the Voice of the People USA Harrisburg rally in September. He came home with an autographed picture of Joey

I think my husband is going to the hearing as long as we get our new car by then (supposed to have it tomorrow -- if the storm doesn't hit too hard).

If not, we'll at least be there in spirit, with our prayers going out on Friday for Joey and the American way!!
