Police said a couple of MS-13 gang members attempted to carjack patrons of this Bojangles restaurant.

PINEVILLE-- The owners of a Pineville fast food restaurant have tried everything to protect the restaurant from robbery. But the Bojangles on Pineville-Matthews Road has been hit several times. The latest time was Wednesday night.

This time the people arrested are suspected of much more. Police know that a couple of MS-13 gang members were involved in this attempted carjacking. Investigators said they might get away with it. And right now there is nothing they can do about it.

This Bojangles has seen its share of robberies. Wednesday night, police said gang embers tried to carjack a couple of men in the restaurant’s parking lot.

"It boggles my mind," said Lieutenant W.C. Embry with the Pineville Police Department.

Pineville police are amazed that crooks keep coming back because the store has one of the best video surveillance systems.

"Since that surveillance video has been in place over there, were in the upwards of 95% for clearing these cases," Embry said.

The system helped police identify Norman Earl Hutchins who was allegedly involved in a robbery at the restaurant that happened on December 30.

"The surveillance video showed his face and it was clear, but we didn’t know who it was but somebody did and now we do," Embry said.

The dramatic arrest of the suspects in an August hold up was caught on tape. Police identified a suspect for last month's robbery and arrested the alleged gang members from last night's attempted carjacking, but the victims left which means the case might get dropped.

"To close this case we have our suspects, but we don’t have our victims, Embry said. “So I need the victims to call the Pineville Police Department. Let’s proceed with this case because we don’t want these two folks going out and doing this to someone else."
