WARREN -- Authorities in Warren County rounded up 39 people in a countywide drug investigation Thursday.

Members of the Warren County Drug Task Force conducted early-morning raids that officials said targeted petty drug dealers. The "wide variety of drugs" and the arrests demonstrated the pervasive illegal drug activity in the county, Warren County District Attorney Ross McKeirnan said.

"We are not talking about blowing around a little pot smoke. This stuff destroys lives," McKeirnan said in a news release announcing the arrests.

The sweep involved the Warren County Sheriff's Office, as well as the Pennsylvania Attorney General's Bureau of Narcotics Investigation and Drug Control, U.S. Marshals Service, Pennsylvania State Police, U.S. Forest Service and the Warren and Youngsville police departments.
