MANASSAS, Va. – A Salvadoran man has been charged with three counts of murder in a series of shootings in a Virginia suburb of Washington, authorities said Friday.

Jose Oswaldo Reyes Alfaro, an illegal immigrant who was ordered deported to El Salvador a decade ago but never left, was charged in the pair of attacks just blocks apart Thursday night that left three people dead and three others injured, Manassas Police Chief Doug Keen said.

The neighborhood has experienced a fair amount of crime and gang activity, but Keen said the killings were not gang-related and Reyes Alfaro had a relationship of some sort with all the victims. Police are still investigating the exact nature of those relationships.

Keen said 56-year-old Brenda Ashcraft and 37-year-old William Ashcraft were killed in the first attack. A 34-year-old woman was injured and remains hospitalized, and a 15-year-old girl was treated and released. In the second attack, Keen said 48-year-old Julio Cesar Ulloa was killed, and a 77-year-old woman suffered head wounds from a large knife. The other victims were all shot.

A 37-year-old illegal immigrant was under arrest Friday after three people were found shot to death and three others were wounded at two houses just blocks apart in the northern Virginia city of Manassas, the police said.

The victims in the shooting on Thursday night included several members of the same family, but said Chief Douglas W. Keen of the Manassas Police Department said it was not clear how, or if, the victims knew the suspect, Jose Oswaldo Reyes Alfaro, 37.

Mr. Alfaro, 37, from El Salvador, had been ordered deported by a federal judge in 2002, but apparently never left the country, the authorities said.

Officers responding Thursday evening to a report of shots fired found the body of Brenda Ashcraft, 56, in the front yard of her house on Hood Road, Chief Keen said.

Inside, the police found three other family members who had been shot.

William Ashbey Ashcraft, 37, died of a bullet wound on the way to the hospital, the police said. A 34-year-old woman and a 15-year-old girl were wounded; the woman is in a hospital in stable condition, and the girl was treated and released. Their names were not released.

About 30 minutes later, Chief Keen said, officers responding to another call of shots fired, on Brent Street, about a quarter-mile away, found the body of Julio Cesar Ulloa, 48.

A 77-year-old woman with head wounds — possibly from a stabbing — was also inside the house, the police said. She was hospitalized in stable condition; her name was not released.

About 45 minutes after the first call to police, Mr. Alfaro was arrested while driving nearby. Chief Keen said some of the victims had described the suspect and his car to the police.

Another case of dereliction of duty by our federal government in regards to an illegal invader who then goes on to kill innocent Americans after being “ordered deported.â€

The government needs to realize that with illegals you don't ASK them to leave. You arrest them handcuff them until they are on the next cheapest transport (preferable a tramp steamer) back to their country of origin. This ASK to LEAVE needs to stop. They need to be booted out and it needs to be done from court to border. No go home and pack, no take your belongings, just the shirt on your back and out ya go. Gov will sell off all belongings as penalty for being here illegally.

I do not put anything pass aliens, because they are cable of performing any acts of crime. What we see currently happening in Mexico should teach us all a lesion about becoming involved with illegal immigrants.

They are exposed to the worst kinds of murders and crimes daily, so it is easy for those people to engage into such criminal acts here in America.

Most are uneducated, and may not have feelings for life, due to the life styles they grew up with and use to being around. My advice is for all citizens to stay away from illegal aliens, they are not the people they presents themselves to be and are most certainly not people to become friends with...Very trusting‼

If they're from Mexico, El Salvador or Guatemala, that's usually how it goes. If they're from any other country, they usually get 30 days or ELSE...Look at the pattern of deportations.
