Police Officer Detained at Checkpoint

The four year veteran of the force resigned today

FALFURRIAS -A McAllen Police Officer was detained by U.S. Border Patrol agents at the Falfurrias check point Friday. She is being investigated for suspicion of transporting two illegal crossers.


The officer is a four year veteran of the force. She gave her resignation when approached by a McAllen Police Internal Affairs representative. McAllen Police Chief, Victor Rodriguez accepted her resignation effectively immediately.

CHANNEL 5 NEWS reached out to the U. S. Border Patrol about the possible charges the officer faces.

We have to get rid of people who try to break the law hat they are supposed to be enforcing. But part of me is thinking that when the folks in the field can see that their superiors in Washington, DC, do not want our laws enforced, some of the field workers will be sore tempted to pick up a few bucks on the side.
