Police seize meth and cash, arrest 7 in bust

Authorities have seized almost 7 pounds of methamphetamine along with $18,000 cash in or near Carthage and arrested seven people, Joplin police said in a statement.
On Friday, 6 pounds of the drug and $10,000 were found at a location north of town. That seizure followed up a Thursday incident in which officers from various local, state and federal agencies arrested someone after he allegedly delivered about 4 ounces of meth to a location in Carthage, the statement said.

Officers found 8 more ounces and $8,000 in cash at the location, in the 400 block of High Street, after obtaining a search warrant, the statement said.

The U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement detained seven people, the statement said. Four were held on drug charges, and all seven were held on charges of being in the country illegally.
