    First Church Enters Immigration Debate

    Three-part series promotes discussion of Immigration Matters.

    The First Church in Belmont, Unitarian Universalist begins the New Year by sponsoring a three meeting series entitled: Immigration Matters

    • Sun., Jan. 9 at 12:30 p.m. – 2:30 p.m.: Panel and Discussion on Immigration, Part 1

    Topics include hot topics in Massachusetts's economic refugees, labor exploitation, human trafficking, health care, access to higher education and challenges to Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

    • Sun., Jan. 23 at 12:30 p.m. – 2:30 p.m.: Panel and Discussion on Immigration Part 2

    Topics include labor history, migrant workers, challenges to human rights and a Unitarian Universalist minister's perspective about the Arizona legislation SB1070 and the New Sanctuary Movement.

    • Fri., Jan. 28 at 7 p.m.: Film: Crossing Arizona

    The film examines the influx of migrants across the Mexico-Arizona border, through the eyes of those directly affected by it.

    Co-Sponsored by the Youth Group and Social Action Committee at First Church and Belmont Against Racism.

    Each event will be held in the Parish Hall, 404 Common Ave., Belmont.

    Glad you mentioned that. I was reading through wondering if they would be supporting or going against illegal aliens.

    Least one Church still believes the Bible says follow the rule of law.

    That won't be the Catholic Church. They support illegals, encouraging them to come here telling them it is their right. Their position is immoral.
