But the United States only has 965,256 staffed hospital beds, said the report from the Trust for America's Health. The non-profit group's state-by-state analysis adds to a growing clamor of voices contending that the United States is not prepared for a large outbreak of disease, whether natural or brought on by war or terrorism.

I have had the flu twice in the past 5 years. I wouldnt go to the hospital for anything.

If I understand it correctly, some of the flu vaccines actually spread the virus. Thanks but no thanks.

I've been reading about this all over. What could the United States do to help stop this from happening? Obviously, the borders, but with all of the air travel worldwide...could we stop it from happening?
